THE PHILOSOPHY
Valternative is an interior design and architecture consultancy with a focus on luxurious hospitality, residential, and commercial projects. We create impactful, relevant, and unique spaces by incorporating raw and natural materials and biophilic practices. Detailed and deliberate blend of contemporary and heritage is evident in every space we design.
Valternative takes pride in working with carefully chosen individuals and businesses by establishing connections that last. We applaud craftmanship and fine detailing. Every design project is different, and versatility is crucial, so individual approach is the foremost step in our process. There is no prefabricated formula when it comes to planning and designing, whilst the primary focus is on the people who will use the space.

FOUNDER and DIRECTOR
Valentina Doncevic is an entrepreneur within real estate, design, and hospitality, with companies in the UK, Croatia, and Singapore. Her focus is on delivering results of uncompromising quality and detailed craft, combining creativity, commercial enterprise, and technology.
Growing up in lush countryside nurtured her strong connection with nature and experimentation with the use of natural materials, which underlines the design ethic that permeates many aspects of her work. She also creates multidisciplinary art encapsulating poetry, crochet, and spaces, having exhibited her work at the National Design Centre Singapore several times.
She founded design consultancy Valternative in 2017 after two decades of hospitality, recruitment, and finance career in London. In 2024 Valentina opened a forest retreat Mala Vila in Croatia, blending hospitality, nature, and overall wellbeing.
Valentina is a member of Paperspace Asia, a collective of diverse industry experts across strategy, design, project management, and change, and Forum, a peer group of principals and experts based across the major cities of the world. She is a partner to Christie’s International Real Estate, global real estate company, and Bettamint, construction performance monitoring software.
Valentina also initiates and manages varied charitable projects assisting those less represented in our society.
